眼文は大きさや配置にわずかな違いを見せ、青い地色との鮮やかな対比を生み出しています。
同系統の珠は、谷一尚・工藤吉郎『世界のとんぼ玉 改訂新版』において、6～7世紀のメロヴィング朝期のモザイク眼玉として紹介されています。
本品も色彩と眼文の構成に共通点が見られますが、製作地と年代については類例に基づく推定です。
